Sarah Frede is a fashion and costume designer working at the intersections of nature and technology. In her interdisciplinary methods she loves to collaborate with artists from various fields. She works on cultural, social and technical phenomena with regard to the possibilities for contemporary fashion design. Therefore she is constantly testing the boundaries of manufacturing processes and craftsmanship, while using new technologies in an artistic ways. For her latest collection GHOST STORIES she used new tools such as 3D scanners in a playful and intuitive way, that allows her to find inspiration at the edges of reality and virtuality. A strong focus lies on the development of new surfaces and the manipulation of materials. Drawing from themes like science fiction, her designs reflect an assertive sense of femininity.
